RUSH: New Tribute Album In The Works?
January 3, 2005RUSH fan site Power Windows is reporting that there have been more rumblings of one or more RUSH tribute albums in the works. Over two years ago guitarist Vinnie Moore's (UFO) web site announced that "Vinnie is recording tracks in his studio for a RUSH tribute CD that will be released by Magna Carta Records [the label that released the 'Working Man' tribute album in 1996]. Vin is playing all of the rhythm guitars and also a solo or two. Mike Mangini (STEVE VAI) is on drums and Stu Hamm is on bass. There will be many guest vocalists and guitarists on the record. No info available at the moment on who these guest artists will be." More recently, KISS drummer Eric Singer announced on his web site "...recently I did a couple of recording sessions for Bob Kulick [brother of KISS guitarist Bruce Kulick]. He is producing some projects for Michael Schenker and a RUSH tribute record. I did one song for the Schenker record with Michael on guitar, Tony Franklin on bass, Sebastian Bach on vocals and myself on drums. The same line-up is also on the RUSH track as well." Although there has been no confirmation from Magna Carta Records of any new RUSH tribute, one might speculate that both artists may be working on the same project.
